Celebrate the Holidays with us!
The local startup community is organizing a holiday party to celebrate the season, and you’re invited! The party is being held at Noble Tree Coffee & Tea on Saturday, December 13th starting at 10:00 PM. The party is free - just bring yourself, your friends and a cheerful disposition.
We’ll also be accepting donations of coats, scarves, hats, etc. as well as raising money for local charities - see below for more info.
Who’s Organizing This?
The holiday party is being put together by a group of local startups and organizations, including:
Make a donation to One Brick
One Brick provides support to local non-profit and community organizations by creating a unique, social and flexible volunteer environment for those interested in making a concrete difference in the community. They enable people to get involved, have an impact and have fun, without the requirements of individual long-term commitments.
One Brick has brought volunteers to support over 500 organizations, and add to that list with their events each month. The beneficiaries of their volunteer efforts have included groups who work for the benefit of children, the environment, food banks, schools, inner city neighborhoods, etc.
Each year One Brick incurs expenses of about $150,000. They work hard to stretch those dollars and make sure money is being put to good use. This year One Brick will provide 65,000 volunteer hours - equivalent to the work of 32 full time employees!
Consider this: for every $2 donated to One Brick, they deliver over $18 in value to the community! That’s a huge return on any investment! With One Brick, it doesn’t take a lot of money to have a HUGE impact on our community.

Bring hats, gloves, and scarves to help the homeless and support The Night Ministry!

Help The Night Ministry give the priceless gift of a caring community season of togetherness to homeless youth and marginalized adults in Chicago. The Night Ministry’s Holiday Celebration brings companionship and the spirit of the holidays to the youth and adults they serve throughout the year.
We will be holding a drive for hats, gloves, and scarves to support the Night Ministry’s Holiday Celebration. Additional in-kind donations are needed for the Night Ministry’s holiday programs and will be collected at the party as well. A full list can be found here (PDF download).
Since their founding in 1976, The Night Ministry has been serving Chicago’s most vulnerable youth and adults. Each year, their work helps thousands of youth and adults access essential services and to become more self-reliant.
The Night Ministry focuses on providing:
- a continuum of services for Chicago’s homeless youth, including street outreach, a drop-in center, housing, health care, counseling, employment readiness training, and education referrals
- primary health care and outreach services for Chicago’s underserved and at-risk populations
